Caroline Clarke

I am British. I am originally from London, where I was a Metropolitan Police Officer for over 12 years. I am married and we have two children. As a family, we love our life in Switzerland and also enjoy travelling to other countries.

When it comes to learning a language, I think Albert Einstein said it best, " A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new."

I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language as an adult, and how practice in a safe and non-judgmental environment is key to making advances. My hope is to share my love for my mother tongue and help you develop your communication skills.

I enjoy preparing students for exams, conversation classes, and helping students reach their potential, and enjoy the journey.

I completed a TEFL course with International TEFL and TESOL Training and also hold a CELTA certificate (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults issued by the University of Cambridge ) and SVEB 1 (Swiss-certified qualification in adult teaching).

Claudia Collet Rothlin

I grew up in Lachen (SZ). After finishing school, I spent a year in Lausanne to learn French. Afterwards, I completed an apprenticeship in nursing, for toddlers and postnatal care. I used these skills working as a medical assistant in a pediatrician’s practice for 4 1 /2 years.

I then changed direction and spent the next 7 years working as a flight attendant for Swissair. The next adventure saw us move, as a family, to the US, where we lived for a little over 3 years.

On returning I studied and passed the CAE (Cambridge Advanced English) and the CPE (Cambridge Proficiency English) exams. After the CAE I started teaching English privately. This helped me share my knowledge of English and prompted me to formalise my teaching skills.

In 2013 I finished the CELTA course, followed by the SVEB 1 (Swiss certified qualification in adult teaching).

I have been teaching in our small school since 2014 and am very happy to meet new people and accompany them on their English journey.
